For the last week or so, I’ve been meditating in Philippians 3. I keep coming back to this verse: “But whatever things were gain to me, those things I have counted as loss for the sake of Christ.” (Phil 3:7)
You have been following the lives, trials and prayer needs of many MentorLink staff and partners for months and perhaps years now. I think it is evident, these people are soldiers of the King and are worthy of our prayers.
They are soldiers because they continue to put His Kingdom first. “Whatever things were gain to me….”
Last week I was in Dakar, Senegal and had the privilege to be around many who are living Paul’s words in a difficult and repressive part of Africa.
Living in the US puts in a different place regarding many of the hardships we face compared to those ministering in Africa, Central Asia or the “muslim”nations of the world.
Regardless of where we live or what we face in our lives and ministries, the Spirit calls each of us to “count all things as loss for the sake of Christ”.
May Jesus grant you courage to live into this calling.
