Paul writes, “for a wide door for effective work has opened to me, and there are many adversaries.” (1 Cor. 16:9)
One only needs to read through prayer requests/updates to see the reality of this verse. For example, M is front and center in the battle for the hearts of the displaced Syrian refugees. The need is so great, the obstacles so huge, the opposition so great, yet, he keeps stepping forward.
Another example is P and his family who live in Cameroon where the Boko Haram daily attack villages nearby. He continues to minister in spite of the danger. The adversaries in this case are life threatening.
Then there is A who helped put on a conference to encourage and equip front line workers in the Arab world. These people were discouraged and isolated yet found hope and courage by being together, getting some equipping and singing Arabic worship songs.
The above are examples of “adversaries”. It is evident that there are also very wide open doors of effective service for many in the MentorLink Movement, and around the world.
All of this leads me to encourage each of us to pray for the faithful workers we know anywhere in the world.
