“For you yourselves are fully aware that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.” (1 Thess. 5:2) These are words of encouragement to me. Not so much because I want to escape what is happening in this world, but rather I want to see the pain and suffering come to an end that so many go through.
His return is also a motivator to keep ready, to keep focused and to keep working in His Kingdom. Someday He will come and will I be ready?
Paul writes, “But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation. For God has not destined us for wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us so that whether we are awake or asleep we might live with him. Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.” (1 Thess. 5:8-11)
How does He want you to respond to Him today?
Come quickly Lord Jesus,
