People of faith see the unseen. This is the message of Hebrews 11.
My wife and I love the mountains of North Carolina. We go there whenever we can just to be refreshed and to relish the beauty of God’s creation. We most feel like home there. The longing for beauty and quiet peace draws us like nothing else in this world.
In a similar way, but even more real and certainly eternal, we have a home we desire – a heavenly one. This one is the one He has prepared for us.
This morning I was reading in Heb. 11 and was struck by verse 16. “But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore, God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared for them a city.”
The most peaceful, beautiful place in this world is nothing in comparison to the wonder, beauty and peace of the place He has prepared for us.
Take a moment to thank the Father for this reality and hope.
