This week I have been reading in 1 John. I was struck by John’s advice, “And now little children, abide in him, so that when he appears we may have confidence and not shrink from him in shame at his coming.” (1 John 2:28).
When we feel guilty about something, we don’t want to talk about it or be around the person we might have offended or wronged. It’s the same when we will face Jesus.
Have you ever asked yourself the question, “If I were to stand before Jesus right now, what would I be ashamed of?” Whatever that is, please confess it before Him today. “He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness”
(1 Jn. 1:9).
Abiding in Jesus is to remain in fellowship with him, by confessing our sins and keeping our focus on Him day to day.
When He comes, and He will come soon, may we have confidence and not shrink back at His appearing.
