Yesterday, my wife and I were driving to Atlanta to attend some special events for our two granddaughters. My wife often catches up on the news while I drive. She spent quite a lot of time reading the news and after a while, said, “It sure seems like lawlessness is increasing.”
I mentioned that this is what Paul said would happen in the “last days”. Here’s what he says:
“But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power.” (2 Tim. 3:1-5)
We know our Lord can return at any time. Though lawlessness increases, what sort of people should we be?
Ask the Lord for wisdom and courage for today to be salt and light to those around you.
