Thirsting for God

I remember being on the edge of Cairo right at the base of the pyramids looking out at the desert. There were no plants, no green anywhere, only the browns and tans of sand and rocks. What a dry and weary land. If anyone would venture out there on foot, quickly they would be faced with life threatening thirst.

David was in such a situation as he declared his thirst for God.

“O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.” (Ps. 63:1)

Take a moment to ponder this verse. Ask for the same heart as David, to thirst for God and to earnestly seek Him.
