We are in a period of suffering. I just got off a ZOOM call with Aila where he described the anguish in his heart from team members and disciple-makers (500 families averaging 8 members per family) who have no food for their families. This is a result of a continuous sequence of famine, flood, locusts, Covid-19, locusts and now more famine.
This has happened over a period of more than a year. I can not imagine being in a more dire situation apart from a war.
I was reminded of my reading this morning in 1 Corinthians 12:26, ”…if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it…”.
These last several weeks I have been talking with people all over the world, hearing about their situation, struggles, progress and their heart, faith and sacrifice for the Lord. But talking with Aila this morning broke my heart at the suffering and impossibility of the situation.
I am suffering in my heart right now for Aila and his team in Northern Kenya. You know others who may be suffering. Take a few minutes to pray for them. Perhaps call them to encourage them. Truly our hope is in the Lord – where else can we turn?
May Aila and you see the provision and deliverance which comes from the Lord.
