Help in Trouble

There seems to be trouble all around these days. Certainly when we read any news source or watch any news broadcast, trouble is what is discussed. Then we look at the people close to us or even our own experience and know that trouble is all too common. The daily reminder of our global pandemic with its hardships and danger remind us of our frailty. Where do we find help in times of trouble?

“God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change And though the mountains slip into the heart of the sea; Though its waters roar and foam, Though the mountains quake at its swelling pride.” … “The Lord of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our stronghold.” … “Cease striving and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth. The Lord of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our stronghold.” (Psalms 46:1-3 , 7,10-11)

Take a few minutes to reflect on this passage in light of the trouble before you and your loved ones. What hope does this passage bring? What perspective do you gain? Thank the Lord of hosts for His help.
